Regular contact with clients is essential for a good business relationship. By discussing matters calmly at defined times, you can provide the client with proactive advice for making the right choices. You can then help the entrepreneur even more with operating his business.

From education to a career

I was born on March 21, 1969 in Hoorn. After my pre-university education (VWO) I received my university degree in economics and my post-graduate degree in accountancy. I worked for five years in a big well-known countrywide accountants firm. In 1996 I began to work at CROP chartered accountants and CROP tax consultants, since 1999 as a partner. As a chartered accountant I handle a great deal of financing issues and restructuring of companies, in recent times mainly in family businesses. I am also involved in mergers and takeovers. |The clients that fall under my responsibility are active in highly divergent sectors: from installation techniques to the movie and record industry. This is very diverse and dynamic. Had I not gone into this line of work, I would have probably become a police detective. That type of job also entails working with all different types of people and it has variety and dynamics. And just like in my work as a chartered accountant, you always have to think real hard about how you will solve a client's problem.

My motive: the interest of the client

Our profession is constantly developing. Legislation changes, enterprises change, and the world around us changes. It is a challenge to inter-weave all these factors in my work. What do I find important in my work? I attach importance to freedom, independence and openness. In addition, I find it important to have good communication among colleagues. It is important that they cooperate as a close-knit team to transform our clients issues into maximum results. That's where I get my energy!
What is my biggest professional achievement? That's not something that I can determine. It all has to do with what is important for the client. I may feel that I did something very simple for a client, but for him this might have been extremely valuable.
